THE SCROLL OF THE ONE WHO HOLDS THE KEY

(Why only Christ has authority over the abyss)

Written for the remnant who must understand that judgment begins with authority—not chaos, and that the abyss opens only by the command of the King.

“I am the One who was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of the Grave.”

Revelation 1:18

Revelation 9 does not begin with darkness rising — it begins with Christ ruling.

Before the abyss opens in Revelation 9,
the remnant must know one truth:
Christ holds the key.

No angel claims it.
No demon possesses it.
No enemy can take it.

Only Christ, the resurrected King,
has authority over the realm of restraint.

The abyss is not Satan’s domain.
It is not the playground of darkness.
It is Jehovah’s prison,
sealed and opened only by His will.

When Revelation 9 begins,
the opening of the abyss is not the act of rebellion—
it is the act of divine permission.

Christ commands the timing.
Christ commands the key.
Christ commands the judgment.

“I am the One who was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of the Grave.”

Revelation 1:18

The remnant must understand this:
Revelation 9 is not chaos unleashed.
It is authority exercised.

When the abyss opens,
it is because Christ has deemed the moment right—
and what emerges serves His purpose,
not the enemy’s ambition.

Even the forces of torment
move only within boundaries set by His voice.

The Kingdom has no accidents.

The locusts rise only after He allows the key
to be placed in the hand of the angel He chooses.

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on the earth.”

Matthew 28:18

And the sealed—
the remnant, the witnesses—
stand untouched because they belong to the One
who holds not only the key,
but their destiny.

Christ holds the key to the abyss — and the remnant walks safely because their King governs the deep.

Parent & Shepherd Reflection: Understanding Christ’s Authority

This reflection is written for parents, elders, shepherds, and students of prophecy who must understand that Revelation 9 does not begin with darkness— it begins with Christ’s authority. Judgment unfolds only after the risen King permits it. This truth anchors the remnant in confidence and removes fear from the prophetic sequence.

• Christ possesses the key because He conquered death.
Revelation 1:18 — “I have the keys of death and of the Grave.”
Reflection: Authority over the abyss is not inherited or shared—it is earned by resurrection power.
• Judgment begins only when Christ allows the abyss to open.
Revelation 9:1 — “A star was given the key to the shaft of the abyss.”
Reflection: Even angels act under delegated authority; no one moves independently of the King.
• The remnant must teach others that Revelation 9 is controlled, not chaotic.
Matthew 28:18 — “All authority has been given to Me…”
Reflection: When believers misunderstand this chapter, they fear the locusts. When they understand it, they trust the King.
Teaching Prompt: How does knowing that Christ governs the abyss change the way we interpret judgment, suffering, and spiritual warfare?

Judgment does not begin with darkness rising — it begins with Christ ruling.
