\r\n THE SCROLL OF THE REMNANT\u2019S COMFORT\r\n <\/h2>\r\n

\r\n (Finding Courage When Faith Feels Lonely)\r\n <\/p>\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n Written by one who knew what it meant to feel alone,
\r\n who wondered whether faithful people had become few,
\r\n and who found perspective in Scripture\u2019s accounts of a remnant.\r\n <\/p>\r\n \r\n

\r\n
\r\n

\r\n \u201cI will leave remaining in your midst a humble and lowly people, and they will take refuge in the name of Jehovah.\u201d\r\n <\/p>\r\n

\r\n \u2014 Zephaniah 3:12<\/strong>\r\n <\/p><\/div>\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n Scripture shows that faithfulness has never depended simply on being part of the majority.\r\n <\/p>\r\n \r\n

\r\n There are times when faith can feel lonely.
\r\n You may look around
\r\n and wonder whether anyone else is still asking the same questions,
\r\n seeking truth with the same seriousness,
\r\n or trying to remain faithful without following the crowd.

\r\n Scripture contains moments like that.
\r\n It speaks of people who remained
\r\n when many others turned away.
\r\n

\r\n \u201cI will leave remaining in your midst
\r\n a humble and lowly people,
\r\n and they will take refuge in the name of Jehovah.\u201d
\r\n \u2014 Zephaniah 3:12<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n Zephaniah\u2019s words belonged to a prophetic setting
\r\n involving judgment, purification, and restoration.
\r\n The \u201cremaining\u201d people were not celebrated
\r\n because they were proud of being few.
\r\n They were described as humble
\r\n and as taking refuge in Jehovah\u2019s name.

\r\n The idea of a remnant appears elsewhere too.
\r\n Paul used it when discussing Israel
\r\n and Jehovah\u2019s purpose in his own day.
\r\n

\r\n \u201cIn the same way, then, at the present time also,
\r\n there is a remnant according to a choosing through undeserved kindness.\u201d
\r\n \u2014 Romans 11:5<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n Paul\u2019s point was not that a modern group
\r\n could simply declare itself to be \u201cthe remnant.\u201d
\r\n He was explaining that God had not rejected his people completely
\r\n and that a faithful remainder still existed.

\r\n That distinction matters.
\r\n Scripture can encourage someone who feels alone
\r\n without giving us permission
\r\n to turn loneliness into proof that we alone are correct.

\r\n Elijah once believed that he was the only faithful person left.
\r\n Jehovah corrected that conclusion.
\r\n

\r\n \u201cI still have left 7,000 in Israel,
\r\n all whose knees have not bent down to Baal
\r\n and whose mouths have not kissed him.\u201d
\r\n \u2014 1 Kings 19:18<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n Elijah felt alone,
\r\n but his perception was incomplete.
\r\n There were others he did not know about.
\r\n That account offers both comfort and humility:
\r\n you may not be as alone as you feel,
\r\n and you may not know everyone Jehovah knows.

\r\n Jesus also spoke tenderly to a \u201clittle flock.\u201d
\r\n

\r\n \u201cHave no fear, little flock,
\r\n for your Father has approved of giving you the Kingdom.\u201d
\r\n \u2014 Luke 12:32<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n These words were spoken to Jesus\u2019 disciples
\r\n in a particular setting.
\r\n They should not automatically be used
\r\n as a label for every later religious group
\r\n that sees itself as small or separate.

\r\n But the passage does show
\r\n that smallness by itself is not evidence of failure.
\r\n Truth is not established by head count,
\r\n and faithfulness is not measured by popularity.

\r\n Scripture also warns us against the opposite mistake:
\r\n thinking that being different automatically makes us right.
\r\n The standard remains what is true,
\r\n what Scripture actually teaches,
\r\n and whether our conduct reflects humility, love, and faithfulness.

\r\n So if your faith feels lonely,
\r\n do not measure truth by applause.
\r\n Do not measure it by opposition either.
\r\n Return to Scripture.
\r\n Test what you believe.
\r\n Remain humble.
\r\n Look for others who sincerely seek God.
\r\n And resist the temptation to turn isolation into spiritual superiority.

\r\n Let this reflection leave you with something steady to hold:
\r\n being in the minority does not make you wrong,
\r\n being in the minority does not automatically make you right,
\r\n and feeling alone does not mean that Jehovah has no other faithful servants.<\/div>\r\n \r\n

\r\n Scripture gives courage to those who feel alone while still calling them to humility, truth, and careful discernment.\r\n <\/p>\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n Personal Reflection: When Faith Feels Lonely\r\n <\/h3>\r\n

\r\n The Scriptures in this scroll use the language of a remnant in specific historical and prophetic settings. They can encourage people who feel spiritually isolated, but they should not be used to declare that a modern person, movement, or organization is automatically Jehovah\u2019s chosen remnant. These reflections are meant to preserve both the comfort and the humility found in the biblical accounts.\r\n <\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n \u2022 A remnant is described by humility, not superiority.<\/strong>
\r\n Zephaniah 3:12 \u2014<\/strong>\r\n \u201cA humble and lowly people... will take refuge in the name of Jehovah.\u201d<\/em>
\r\n Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Zephaniah\u2019s remnant is not pictured boasting that it alone understands everything. Humility is one of its defining characteristics. Any use of \u201cremnant\u201d language should therefore make a person more careful and humble, not more self-important.\r\n
\r\n \u2022 Paul\u2019s remnant language has a specific context.<\/strong>
\r\n Romans 11:5 \u2014<\/strong>\r\n \u201cThere is a remnant according to a choosing through undeserved kindness.\u201d<\/em>
\r\n Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Paul was discussing Israel and explaining that God had not rejected his people completely. The verse is not a blank authorization for later groups to appoint themselves as the remnant. Its immediate meaning should remain intact before we draw broader encouragement from it.\r\n
\r\n \u2022 Feeling alone does not mean you actually are alone.<\/strong>
\r\n 1 Kings 19:18 \u2014<\/strong>\r\n \u201cI still have left 7,000 in Israel.\u201d<\/em>
\r\n Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Elijah believed he alone remained faithful, but Jehovah showed him that his view was incomplete. This is deeply comforting, but also corrective. We should be cautious about assuming that we know all of God\u2019s faithful servants or that faithfulness exists only where we can personally see it.\r\n
\r\n \u2022 Small numbers do not determine truth.<\/strong>
\r\n Luke 12:32 \u2014<\/strong>\r\n \u201cHave no fear, little flock.\u201d<\/em>
\r\n Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Jesus comforted his disciples as a small flock. The verse shows that being few does not make people insignificant to God. But smallness itself is not proof of divine approval either. Scripture, not group size, remains the standard.\r\n
\r\n \u2022 Reflexi\u00f3n personal:<\/strong>\r\n Do you feel alone because you are trying to remain faithful to something you believe Scripture teaches? What evidence supports that belief? Are you still willing to examine it honestly, listen to correction, and recognize faithful people outside your immediate circle?<\/div>\r\n \r\n

\r\n Faithfulness is not proved by being many or by being few; it is tested by truth, humility, and faithfulness to Scripture.\r\n
