margin: 28px 0 32px 0;\">\r\n \u201cNo crushed reed will he break,<br>\r\n and no smoldering wick will he extinguish.\u201d<br>\r\n <strong>\u2014 Isaiah 42:3<\/strong>\r\n <\/p>\r\n A bruised reed is already damaged.<br>\r\n A smoldering wick is already weak.<br>\r\n Yet the picture is not one of harshness.<br>\r\n It is one of gentleness toward what is fragile.<br><br>\r\n That matters when life has made you feel<br>\r\n like damaged things are only thrown away.<br>\r\n Scripture does not present weakness<br>\r\n as permission for cruelty.<br>\r\n It points instead toward compassion.<br><br>\r\n The Psalms also speak openly of healing.<br>\r\n <p style=\"font-style: italic; They show that brokenhearted people are seen, that gentleness matters, that healing is possible, and that receiving help from others has a place in faithful life. Its comfort lies in the fact that brokenheartedness is not presented as a condition that pushes a person beyond Jehovah\u2019s concern.\r\n <hr style=\"margin: 14px 0;\">\r\n <strong>\u2022 Fragility should be met with gentleness.<\/strong><br>\r\n <strong>Isaiah 42:3 \u2014<\/strong>\r\n <em>\u201cNo crushed reed will he break, and no smoldering wick will he extinguish.\u201d<\/em><br>\r\n <strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Isaiah uses images of things already weakened, and the passage describes gentleness rather than destruction. In its larger setting, this language describes Jehovah\u2019s servant and is later applied to Jesus. We should not turn the verse into a guarantee that every emotional or physical wound will disappear on our preferred timetable. It does, however, place healing and restoration firmly within the biblical picture of Jehovah\u2019s care.\r\n <hr style=\"margin: 14px 0;\">\r\n <strong>\u2022 You do not have to carry every burden alone.<\/strong><br>\r\n <strong>Galatians 6:2 \u2014<\/strong>\r\n <em>\u201cGo on carrying the burdens of one another.\u201d<\/em><br>\r\n <strong>Reflexi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Christian life is not presented as complete emotional self-sufficiency. Paul tells believers to help carry one another\u2019s burdens.
